FASHION MEETS INTERIORS:
 "BALANCE"

The 'Balancing Barn', shown above, is an energy-efficient modern country house built by a lake in Suffolk, England.
This traditional barn with its architectural design is built over a grassy slope with the peak of the hill as its midpoint.
How cool is this!!!!

When a space is well-balanced , everything just feels right.
Kind of like everything in life.. right?
(Design above by BBG-BBGM)

The same visual appeal applies to Fashion Design.
Sometimes we don't see what's right in front of our eyes...

'SYMMETRICAL BALANCE' -
Best described as having equal weight on both sides of its central focal point.
When in terms of 'interior design', we arrange furniture identically on either side.

Basically, the human eye has been trained to find beauty in symmetry because that is what our eyes have been accustomed to.
Keep reading for more ways of balancing design :-)

David Koma's Spring 2014 collection proves that SYMMETRICAL BALANCE is key to flattering a woman's curves.
This is a key example of fashion meets VERTICAL SYMMETRY .

Finding HORIZONTAL SYMMETRY in fashion is especially difficult but we think designer Nicola Formichetti nailed it.

  ‘ASYMMETRICAL BALANCE-
Distribution of both weight and tones on equal side of its focal point without mirror-imaging either side.
Pretty tricky… eh?

The Classic 'Off-the-Shoulder' AKA 'One-Shoulder' ensemble, as worn above by Kim Kardashian, is a great example of how the ‘Asymmetrical Balance’ trend translates from fashion into interiors and vice versa.

 'COLOR-BALANCE'-
The way you distribute the use of colors which gives off a feeling
of satisfaction and beauty.
This is a playful way to bring modern into your home but I would suggest hiring a professional or it might get ugly.

COLOR BALANCE in fashion is always fun and flirty, but please make sure this acts as your one and only STATEMENT PIECE.
Keep everything else very basic or you will end up looking like a clown.

RADIAL-BALANCE'-
Providing symmetry around a central axis.

This one gives off a very business feel
( ex: movie screenings, power point presentations, etc. )

The Olsen Twins, Mary-Kate and Ashley,  have an obvious genetic balance
BUT  especially in fashion….
#FashionIcons

NUMBER 12 !!

Understand yourself, and be understanding of others.
Happiness is not a matter of intensity, but of balance, order, rhythm, and harmony.
(But having intensity and passion never hurts ;-)
